Q1 2024 Performance of Music & Podcasts Apps on Android in Australia

In the first quarter of 2024, Australia's Android users showed a varied interest in the top Music and Podcasts applications. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, indicates how these apps have fared in terms of downloads, revenues, and active users.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts saw its revenue fluctuate, peaking at $165K in late February before settling at $147K by the end of March. Downloads spiked to 11.7K in late January, while weekly active users saw a steady increase, ending the quarter with 2.8M.

LiSTNR experienced no revenue, focusing our attention on downloads and active users. Downloads saw a high of 5.9K in late January, with active users reaching 13.3K during the same period. However, both metrics saw a slight decline, with downloads at 3.9K and active users at 11.5K by the quarter's end.

Shazam: Find Music & Concerts, another app with zero revenue, had its downloads peak at 5K by late March. Active users presented a more varied trend, with a noticeable dip to 105K in early March before recovering to 126K by the quarter's close.

ABC listen: Radio & Podcasts also showed no revenue. Downloads for ABC listen peaked at 4.3K in late January, while the active user base reached its highest at 16.7K in the same month before slightly decreasing to 15.8K.

SoundCloud: Play Music & Songs generated revenue with an upward trend, starting the quarter at $11.6K and ending at $14.8K. Downloads remained fairly stable, with a slight increase to 3.4K by the end of March. Weekly active users hovered around 58K throughout the quarter.
